Some What back.

Well I've been MIA for quite sometime (can blame university) I've come to realize that I don't get as many bitts of scrap metal or working materials as I would like so I've decided to branch out to other methods of entertainment. I've been watching lets plays and frankly I thought I'd give it a go and benefit my self in the process and who know if enough people enjoy it I may be able to do some more interesting stuff. So I'll be starting a Youtube channel and hope that it doesn't conflict with school work. But yeah.

Little short story.

Since i can's sleep right now I just wrote a little short story.

As I sprinted I started to lose all reason, the trees whipped by faster and faster. I felt it growing stronger this new familiar darkness. Then I lost my self I needed to eat I felt as if I had never seen food before. I need meat the next living thing I see I kill, “I’ll feast" I mutter in a hoarse, rash and bass tone that was not my own. "No time to think on that!" The tone of my now own voice alien to me. I come to a clearing and see movement, my mind goes black and I feel the darkness take over; I hear screams of whatever it was I killed. After the darkness resides I see my prey, my own family my sons and wife lay shredded and eaten before me. Before I realize it the familiar darkness comes in a rush but this time my mind is clear, clearer than ever before. As I realize the horror of what I have done I let out a roar in my new voice louder than ever before. Without a sound a being is at my broken door resembling that once was man., it looks at me with white glassy eyes. Its gaunt taught gray skin stretched tightly over its skeletal fame, inch long claws on each finger and toe. It's white hair blows in a unnatural wind it silently walks over to the table and picks up a mirror, IT points it at me, I see a spitting image of the being before me. As I start to sob fearing and wondering what have become, it stretches out its hand I take it as it helps me up. In a harsh rapid whisper I hear it say “Come my son it’s time to go, you will wake soon enough." As we step through the door i feel the snow under my bare feet and feel alive, as I forget the life i once lived I wonder what keeping me from breaking down. As we start running though the woods we get faster and faster till everything's a blur. The being turns to me and hisses "You have awoke my son, now come walk with your new family as a Wendigo!"

It may not be perfect but its mine, night everyone.

From the Gear pits and smelters I return (figuratively) .

Well I'm back!
This I've been on hiatus due to my victory lap of high school. Summering coarse also contributed to the lack of activity. I know the two or three of you may not care but I return with gifts.
If you like steampunk and music give this band a look,

The Cog is Dead

They do a little of everything.

Junk finds for October 21, 2009

Got this stuff a few days back and just didn't post it.
I still have no idea how to get the photos where I want them So I'll have to settle for this.
My Finds include a old broken clock, I've had for a few years and forgot about in the back of my closet. A air regulator that was going to be tossed out along with a box of small bolts , two large brass nuts, four peaces of steel, and a 1/2 inch tap.
The last image contains one of four sets of air valves, connectors, and a air director of some sort, and about 12 feet of the grayish black hose you see connecting everything together. I believe that these parts are all from a lathe of some sort. I think that I may be able to make a steampunked set of head phones from the air directors. The plan is still in production stages so I"m not sure what will be made or how I'll go about doing it. I'll keep you updated.

Oxford Museum of the History of Science

The Oxford Museum of the History of Science Has opened a steampunk exhibit with the kind of work people like me dream of being able to do. It was brought to me attention by The Steampunk workshop,
There is also a slide show of the work on Wired, it showcases some of the work but you can see a lot more at the museums blog.

The blog of the artists that made these marvels, is included if you want more information or just want to tell them how amazing there work is. http://www.steampunkmuseumexhibition.blogspot.com/

Give the steampunk artists your support, they should be proud as it some of the most amazing work I've ever seen.

First post!

Just A heads Up, due to laws and By-laws it is increasingly difficult to get junk to build stuff. I've only recently started to get active about it so the making will be slow but hopefully worth wile. I am in no means an expert so tips on how I did a project are welcome. Also as new and interesting things pop up on my radar I'll post them.
